Your WhatsApp Business display name is what customers see when they receive a message from your business. Meta has strict guidelines for display names, and choosing the right name is critical for approval and customer trust.
Where the Display Name Appears​
The display name appears in several places within the WhatsApp app:
- Chat list -- When a customer receives a message from your business
- Chat header -- At the top of the conversation
- Business profile -- When a customer taps on your name to view business details

How It Works​
- You submit a display name when registering your phone number

Changing Your Display Name​
You can change your display name after initial setup, but:
- Each change requires a new review by Meta
- Navigate to WhatsApp Manager > Phone Numbers > Select Number > Edit
- Enter the new display name
- Submit for review
- The old name continues to display until the new one is approved

- If your business is registered as a Pvt Ltd or LLP, you do not need to include the full suffix

Southeast Asia​
- Use the name consistent with your local business registration
